This unit is a new addition to the Manipal Life Sciences Centre, introduced in 2008. The main idea behind this new discipline is to bridge the gap between life sciences and physical sciences, integrating their analytical strengths to solve complex interdisciplinary research problems, broadening the scope of investigation. The unit is engaged in teaching as well as in research. The focus areas of research of the unit are: Fluorescence and Photoacoustic spectroscopy of biological/ pre-clinical/ clinical samples, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for tissue regeneration, Proteomics and Protein Dynamics.
