3. What is the basic eligibility to enroll in this course?
i) Admission to the BBA (Jewellery Design and Management) course is open to all candidates who possess a pre-university education [10 + 2] or equivalent level of education with 50 per cent aggregate marks
ii) Those who completed diploma in Jewellery designing or diploma in any stream are eligible to get admission directly to second year.
iii) Those who completed degree in any discipline can apply for Post Graduate Diploma course.

4. Is good sketching skill important to enroll in the Jewellery Designing course?
It is not mandatory to have good sketching skills to master the art of designing Jewellery. The faculty provides the professional guidance.
5. I am from non-commerce discipline. Am I still eligible to join the courses at MIJM?
Yes. Students from any discipline are eligible to join the courses at MIJM.
6. What are the various subjects covered in the degree course offered by MIJM?
BBA (JDM) covers all the jewellery related subjects like :
• Jewellery Designing (Manual and CAD)
• Jewellery manufacturing (handmade and casting)
• Gemology
• All management subjects that are covered as in normal BBA/BBM courses.
7. I am not from jeweler’s family nor did I do any course in jewellery previously. Am I still eligible to join the course?
Yes. Anybody interested in starting their career in jewellery design or management is eligible to join the course.
8. I am a diploma holder and want to join the course. What is the advantage I can avail?
Diploma holders in any discipline are eligible for lateral entry (direct admission to 2nd year). The subjects taught during the 1st year BBA(JDM) will be covered by the way of bridge course during 3rd and 4th semester. For more information click here
9. I have completed my degree and would like to pursue some course in MIJM. What options are available for me?
Institute provides various options:
a. If you wish to have in depth knowledge in gem and jewellery then you may join the BBA(JDM) course as a lateral entry (direct admission to 2nd year)

10. I am a working professional and I do not have time to study for a long time at Manipal. What are the options open for me?
You can opt for joining short courses in various areas like jewellery designing (manual and CAD), diamond grading, gemstone identification and grading, casting, jewellery manufacturing, fashion jewellery, retail operations etc. Duration of such courses vary from three days to three weeks.
11. After the completion of this course will I become a bench worker or a karigar?
No. BBA(JDM) aims at creating world class jewellery management professionals and not karigars. We teach the fundamentals of jewellery manufacturing to equip the students with the basic knowledge to supervise the production unit.
12. On completion of the degree course what is the average pay package I may get?
You may expect a starting pay from `18,000/- onwards depending upon your skills, ability and performance.
13. Does MIJM provide any placement at the end of the course?
