I have completed my degree in VLSI-CAD from this place. As we know the modern VLSI Technology is getting updated every second. Here in MCIS, the syllabus is in sync with the modern VLSI industry. This course has some edge over conventional M.Tech syllabus in terms of learning VLSI tools. The faculty also has good knowledge on the subject and get constant feedback from industries to improvise the course. Essence of this course is learning the industry standard tools and methodologies. Placement at MCIS is good and getting constant support from the alumni. The graduates from MCIS are handling multiple roles at various leading VLSI design and CAD industries. One can really get benefited from library and labs which are open to students at all the time.

My search for a PG Institution ended with MCIS Manipal. I was looking for an institution, which offers good theoretical and practical exposure to current industry practices and technologies. During my one-year on-campus stay at MCIS, I realised that MCIS is different from other conventional PG Institutions in terms of curriculum, syllabus, student teaching staff relationship and infrastructure wise. MCIS is an autonomous institute. The flexibility of updating the syllabus according to industry requirements makes it unique. The experienced teaching staff is very friendly and co-operative.

The teaching staff puts in enough effort to make every student study hard by conducting regular theory and practical tests. Coming to infrastructure, I think the whole Manipal University is well equipped. College has lab facility which can is always open for the students. The library has good collection of technical books. The library has other collections too, which are quite useful to students like previous year project reports. MCIS has tools and demo boards, which are quite useful to students, such tools we find only in companies.

MCIS a paradise for someone who loves to earn knowledge. Marks, percentage all takes the back seat here. Equipped with sophisticated lab and software the whole atmosphere inspires one to learn. Empowered by an extremely knowledgeable and supportive staff the college offers great technical education in a very practical sense. But all work and no play makes jack a dull boy, is followed aptly here. Encouraging and providing support for students to organise and take part in cultural as well as sporting events. Thus it is no surprise that students passed out of MCIS are doing great in the corporate world which is evident from the consistently good placement record of the college.Nothing is ever perfect and neither is MCIS but with the zeal of the staff to make the college best of its kind I am sure it will be among the most sought after institutions soon.

MCIS Manipal is one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. I selected Masters at MCIS based on the great feedbacks that I got from my seniors at the university. Education in the MCIS revolves around good research and practical knowledge being imparted to students. Here course contents are in adherence with latest Technologies practiced in industry. The faculty in this university is very professional they maintain good standards in the university. I saw an excellent support for in-campus project works (Philips BOP projects), Opportunities to attend interviews of Top companies, flexibility for industry project work, encouragement to extracurricular activates. The main USP of the course at MCIS is the relevance to the industry, which makes the transition from the academia to the professional career seemingly smooth. The availability of the different tools (like DC) makes it easy to bridge the gap and add weightage to the resume as well. Additionally, the focus on projects at MCIS provided us an opportunity to explore different areas of interest, rather than merely follow the grinds of the classroom. This kept the learning interesting. One of the crucial elements was the interaction with the professors. It was so discussion-oriented, rather than a Q&A mode. I cannot recollect the number of hours we spent debating different topics with our professors. Finally, the late nights we spent in the labs with my friends working on our projects are still truly etched in my minds and will stay so forever. Those truly were “The best days of my Life”.
