M.Sc. Tech. – International Dual Degree Program:

M.Sc. Tech in Embedded Systems and Instrumentation (Manipal University)
M.Sc. in Control and Embedded Instrumentation (ESIGELEC, France)

Manipal University has entered into a MoU with ESIGELEC School of Engineering, Rouen, France (which is supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rouen FRANCE) for transfer of credits after completion of the first semester at Manipal. After the successful completion of the course, the students will be awarded with two degrees each from Manipal University and ESIGELEC, France.

In this “Dual degree Program”, depending on the eligibility, the students pursue their first 1 / 3 semester program at Manipal, and the next 1 semester in ESIGELEC, France. Next two semesters would involve project work which would be carried out in an industry or university or an R&D organization either in FRANCE or INDIA, for which the Manipal University and ESIGELEC will provide their assistance. The students who undergo this course will be able to join software & hardware industries alike.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT ESIGELEC, FRANCE:

ESIGELEC is a French engineering school started in the 1901 located in the historic city of Rouen, backed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Rouen (Normandy). It is a higher education institution offering long technical studies (5 to 8 years). It is recognized by the French government. The school is accredited by the "Commission des Titres d'Ingenieur" to award the ESIGELEC engineering degree (Master’s degree) in the following fields: Electronics & Telecommunications, Information Technologies, Networks, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Business Engineering, and Finance Engineering. ESIGELEC also offers doctoral studies. Its research institute in Electronic Embedded Systems is nationally and internationally recognized in the automotive, aeronautics, electronics and telecommunications areas. ESIGELEC desires to develop international research and learning opportunities as part of its undergraduate, postgraduate and research curriculum related activities.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE CITY OF ROUEN:

Located in Normandy, not far from English Channel and from Paris (150 km), Rouen is an attractive and historic city. Joan of Arc was burnt there in 1431. A town of art, its museum of Fine Arts has the largest collection of impressionist paintings after Paris. The city has kept its picturesque streets lined with timber framed houses.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:

The aim of the programme is to train engineers who will get strong knowledge, experience, and practice in control and embedded systems. They will be able to design, produce, and develop electronic systems and equipments of control command, which will be embedded in AERONAUTIC, SPACE, and AUTOMOBILE industries for instance, in order to control different kind of processes. They will be able to adapt to new technologies in those sectors. They will not only get technical knowledge but also knowledge in project management.

Students will study in an international environment which will offer them the possibility to learn new cultures and languages. Students will also get work experience through the internship."

The engineers trained in this programme can work as: a developer, a researcher, a project manager, a consultant, or a designer for embedded systems.

The students who undergo this program will be able to select the courses based on their interest from broad basket of courses like Real time operating Systems, Device Drivers, Microprocessors, Instrumentation, Data Bases, Logic Synthesis, Project Management & French Language etc… There will be a provision for studying 2 electives in each semester, based on their personal interests and the market demands.

KEY BENEFITS:

• The dual-degree engineering program's greatest benefit is that it offers students the best of both worlds.
• The Dual Degree Program provides an alternate path to get an International Engineering Degree.
• Students successfully completing the program earn two degrees: Master of Science degree from Manipal University, India and M.Sc. degree from ESIGELEC School of Engineering, France.
• International field learning and exposure.
• Cross-cultural content to develop participants’ sensitivity to cultural diversity.
• Opportunities for paid internship in France & French scholarships for academically brilliant students.
• The foundation course at MCIS is according to the international curriculum.
• Great platform to pursue career in engineering abroad.
• The cost incurred would be much less than a person spends when the entire masters program is done abroad.
