BSc in Health Sciences: 6 Semesters (Three Years)

Students are provided with a strong foundation in the basic sciences that will enable them to develop a sound understanding of the clinical manifestations of diseases and disorders and their treatment. The programme runs for 6 semesters.

Students who have completed a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or who have at least 90 college level credits or who have successfully completed the Pre BSc programme offered by KMCIC will be considered on merit basis for admission to this programme.

On completion of this programme at KMC International Center, Manipal, India, students will be enrolled at AUA College of Medicine, New York for further education, i.e. USMLE Step 1 followed by 5 semesters of clinical rotations in the affiliated hospitals of AUA College of Medicine.

Course objectives:

At the end of the Basic Science programme, the medical student shall be able to:

  1. Understand the principles of various Basic Science subjects and apply them to the functioning of the human body.
  2. Develop certain psychomotor skills including memory recall, comprehension, correlation, applications, problem solving and communication.
  3. Be able to critically analyze and discuss in an atmosphere of academic freedom and openness, thus encouraging intellectual exploration and cogent expression.
  4. Evaluate problems/ situations in different perspectives.
