The European Union is the biggest trading partner of India. Many European companies wish to profit from the booming Indian economy and do business in India. A growing number of Indian companies are eager to enter the European market as well. This results in a demand for experts who are well acquainted with European economy, culture, languages and politics. Manipal University with its well-designed program “Master in European Studies and Management” (MESM) is the first to respond to this demand.

Teaching European Business Law to highly motivated Indian students as a visiting professor from a German partner university was a rewarding experience. I am pleased with the excellently equipped and professionally organized learning environment that Manipal Centre for European Studies is providing.

"I feel extremely happy to state that it was a wonderful initiative by the Manipal University authorities to have entered into an arrangement with the European Commission for offering a two year Post Graduate Program titled “Masters in European Studies & Management” from July 2010. Certainly it was a unique step to introduce such special program to the Indian student community not only from the educational point of view but also to explore the employment avenues in Indian as also European Corporates operating both in India and Europe. It was my special privilege to have closely associated in designing and delivering of the program. I have involved in the student selection process and in teaching a new course titled “European Business Environment”. Personally, to me, it was a great learning experience and enriching too. I am sure the foundation laid with the first batch 2010-12 would take us to greater heights in the years ahead and India’s relations with EU would go places."
