The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences was founded in May 2009. At present, the Department has two disciplines, namely Management and English. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences plays a distinctive role in molding the careers of engineers, as the spirit of scientific inquiry and application of technology need to be coupled with human values. With this point of view, the department provides space for students to learn managerial skills, communication skills, group dynamics and to fit into the multi-cultural environment of the industry.

The modules delivered at the undergraduate and post-graduate courses aim at making the engineering students develop an awareness of the social, cultural, economic, ethical and human values. In classroom teaching, emphasis is given to the developing of managerial abilities and communication skills. Overall aim of the department is to help the students to pursue their engineering career and/or higher studies effectively with a humane outlook.
