MOBILE PHONE REGULATIONS : 2010-11

FOR STUDENTS :
Mobile phones, ipods and similar electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited in the class, laboratory, library, workshop and academic area corridors during the working hours. The defaulters will be punished as follows:
The mobile set will be confiscated and the student will be suspended for a period of two days with intimation to the parents. The confiscated mobile set will be handed over to the respective HOD (higher semesters)/Section coordinator (first year). It will be returned only at the end of the semester (including the sim card). The details of the confiscation will be documented in the Proforma prescribed (copy attached)
Possession of mobiles / ipods / programmable calculators / other similar electronic gadgets in the examination halls is strictly banned. The defaulters during the examination / sessional test time will be punished as per the prevailing examination Malpractice Norms (including cancellation of entire examination).

FOR FACULTY & SUPPORTING STAFF :
Use of Mobile phones / ipods in the class, laboratory, workshop, library and examination halls during the academic sessions is banned. They should keep the phone in switched off / silent mode while attending the department / institutional meetings and academic functions. If kept in ‘silent mode’, they have to leave the hall temporarily for answering to the call, in such cases. If any teaching / non-teaching staff member violates the above rules, HODs are authorized to warn him / her.
