Circuits & Measurements Lab
The lab is designed to cater to the needs of students undergoing training on the steady state responses of electrical circuits and the measuring techniques during the 3rd Semester. The additional facilities in this lab are Yokogawa CW140 Power Quality Analyzer, CT and Energy Meter Testing & Calibration Setup.
Integrated Electronics Lab
Industrial Electronics Laboratory is dedicated for both under graduate & post graduate studies. This lab provides the students with 'hands-on' experience in Analog System Design and Digital System Design, also this laboratory plays an important role in understanding and appreciating the concepts of electronic circuits. This lab is equipped with digital oscilloscopes, function generators, dual output power supply, digital multi-meters and digital trainer kits. The major EDA tools available are FPGA Advantage from Mentor Graphics and Xilinx ISE 6.3 and the Multi Purpose Lab Station to simulate and synthesize various digital electronics circuits. To facilitate the implementation of Digital Systems, 15 numbers of FPGA prototype boards are available. Lab is equipped with a server, PCs, having LAN & Internet connectivity. Mini projects in ASD and DSD laboratory courses are mandatory and students carry out the mini project in this lab. Their innovative ideas help them in large extent in their future career. This laboratory makes a major contribution towards final year project work also.
Electrical Machinery Lab
Electrical Machinery Lab is mainly dedicated for undergraduate programme. This lab provides the students with experimental verification of the theoretical concepts studied in the two courses, Electrical Machinery I and Electrical machinery II. Major equipments include DC Motors, Dc Generators, Synchronous Motor, Alternator, Transformer, Induction Motor etc. This laboratory makes contribution towards final year project work in the area of Electrical Machines & Drives and also for consultancy services of testing and rating of 3 phase induction motors, capacitors and transformers.
Power Electronics Lab
The Power electronics and drives lab is well equipped to offer UG/ PG/ Research Studies in the area of power electronics applications to energy conversion. The major equipment include Power Semiconductor Devices, Integrated Power Modules, Control Modules, DSP Trainer kits for working with IPM modules, DSP/ Microcontroller based Motor controller trainer kits for AC and DC Drives with encoders, PLC Trainer kits, BLDC Motor and other auxiliaries such as 100MHz 4-channel DSO with channel to channel isolation, Data Acquisition cards, Power quality study instruments, MG Sets, Work bench with both DC and isolated AC power supplies etc. It is also equipped with the Simulation Environment of MATLAB toolboxes, Orcad circuit simulation and PCB design suite with Capture, CIS, and SLPS options.
Microprocessors & Embedded Systems Lab
The students undergo training on the programming and also interfacing different microprocessors and micro-controllers. The facilities in the lab are 8085, 8086, 8051 trainer kits, Logic Analyzers, Keil code development tools, TMS320C24X EVM, DSK, TI code composer studio etc. Simulation software like Matlab / Simulink are also available.
Lighting Measurements & Simulation Lab
This lab is dedicated for Post graduate programme in Energy management, Auditing & Lighting, research in the area of Energy Management, Auditing & Lighting and Power Systems and Consultancy services for photometric testing & lighting Design. Major hardware facilities include Gonio photometer, Integrating sphere, Humidity chamber, life test racks, rain proof test set up and colorimeter. The laboratory has also been equipped with internationally accepted lighting simulation software ADELINE, ECOTECT, RELUX, PHOTOPIA & AGi32 and the power system simulators MiPower & PSCAD.
