The department also offers a Masters of Dental Surgery course (MDS) in Periodontics (Since 1971) and Implantology, a 3 year university based postgraduate programme that encompasses a research project (dissertation), library dissertation, journal club and seminar presentations. The students are given opportunity to learn and master a variety of surgical and non surgical clinical procedures. Hands on training in implant systems (Frialit, Nobel Biocare) is being imparted as part of the curriculum.
