The under graduate training programme consists of hours of clinical and practical training and theory lecture classes, which exceed the prescribed requirements of the Dental Council of India. The undergraduate orthodontic training programme begins in second year wherein basics of wire bending are tutored. Theory lecture classes, clinical postings, demonstrations in wire bending and small group discussions related to orthodontic diagnosis, fabrication and use of removable appliances, and case selection for fixed orthodontic treatment are imparted in subsequent two years. Periodic evaluations of students are carried out so as to enable them to achieve competencies expected of dental graduates. The main goal is to create a conducive learning environment that allows students to maximise their learning strengths as well as assist them in acquiring basic competencies in Orthodontics.
