Besides the primary aim of being a teaching department, we also engage in research with the current focus being in the areas of oral cancer, pre-cancer and the immune status related to such conditions.

Patient care is provided through a reliable and well-appreciated biopsy service that also accepts cases referred from outside the college. The same is done through interpretation of microscopic slides, diagnosis and reporting of biopsies and cytology.
