Specialisations in MA Communication
Broadcast Media
Specialisation caters to the ever-growing demand for skilled broadcasters through hands-on training in radio production and video production with a greater emphasis on conceptual aspects. Students work on projects specifically designed to master the various techniques and technologies involved and to work in varied conditions meeting strict deadlines.
Print and New Media
This offers a curious combination of the classical and the post-modern media in the age of convergence. It intends to intensely train the students in writing, aesthetics, techniques and technologies of both the media. It covers areas ranging from specialised journalism, newspaper and magazine production to web designing and technical writing with an emphasis on social concern.
Communication Management
This is aimed at preparing students to take up communication challenges in the corporate world. From designing advertisements to placing those in suitable media; from building brands to crisis management; from public relations to event management – students individually and in teams learn the nuances of corporate communication.
Film Studies
Film is a fascinating world of audio-visual narrative, fantasy and reality, art and technology. The film studies stream attempts to make students understand the nitty-gritty of film-making, its theoretical premises and its connection with society at large. It hopes to develop better appreciation of the film world.
