Background/ Past experience:
M V Kamath is a noted journalist, editor, author and former Chairman of Prasar Bharati Corporation. He was correspondent of the Press Trust of India at the United Nations and, European and Washington correspondent for The Times of India. He served as editor of The Free Press Bulletin, The Illustrated Weekly of India and the Sunday edition of The Times of India. He has written 47 books on subjects including politics, history, biography, fiction and journalism. His books on journalism are prescribed as textbooks in many Universities in India. He has received many civic and professional awards. He has been recently honoured with a Doctorate degree by the Mangalore University. Earlier he was bestowed with the Padma Bhushan Award.
