The audio lab is equipped with the latest professional multi-track digital recording and editing facilities. The spacious studio floor with 20 input points and the ‘dead’ sound booth with 4 input points facilitate the recording of diverse audio programme formats from voice-over/ narration to skits, panel discussion, news production to music and drama

The control room houses TASCAM TM-D8000 (48 Channels), TM-D 4000 (32 Channels) and KORG D888 (8 Channels) digital mixer consoles thus resembling a commercial audio studio

Portable field recording units – the conventional DAT recorder - are available for outdoor recording. The studio is just about to acquire professional MP3 recorders for outdoor recording

Apart from learning the above, students are also trained, hands-on, in working on professional audio editing software like Adobe Audition and Soundscape. The Macintosh enable sound editing software – Pro Tools – is a new feather in our cap

The labs are maintained and supervised by 2 Sound engineers who work in shifts from 9 am to 8 pm, thus facilitating optimum utilisation of the infrastructure
