Objective of the Program:
The common goal of this program is to prepare students to find employment in one of the five major disciplines – directing, production, editing, cinematography, screenwriting - of audio-visual production, whether it be film, television or new media.

What does this Program Offer?
The first year at MIC, Manipal will ground the students in understanding the medium from a socio-cultural-historic-economic-critical perspective with equal emphasis on hands-on training in audio-visual production in the digital video format.
MIC, with a 14 year experience of imparting communication education, is well equipped – both in terms of professionals & infrastructure - to prepare students to become well-rounded professionals.
In the second year at EICAR, Paris, students will specialize in direction, screenwriting, cinematography or editing.
EICAR - The International Film & Television School, Paris is located in a city which has a great historic legacy in terms of the medium of film - from the birth of the medium to the present day. Access to some of the definitive spaces, stat-of-the-art film studios, museums, exhibitions and screenings will be definite instruments in the holistic grooming of a student.

Duration:
2 years (1+1 Years)
First Year @ Manipal Institute of Communication, MU, Manipal, and
Second Year @ EICAR – The International Film & Television School, Paris)

Dual Degrees:
Master of Arts in Film Art – awarded by Manipal University, Manipal
Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking - accredited by the European Accreditation Board of Higher Education Schools, EABHES.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate for admission to the program shall have completed a bachelor degree course in any stream (which is of three or more years’ duration after the 10+2 examination) from any recognised university, having secured not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate of the total marks prescribed.
Program Commencement Date: July, 2012
The program commences on September, 2012 at Manipal Institute of Communication, Manipal, Karnataka, India.

Course Fee:
The Tuition fee for the first year at MIC: Rs. 2, 00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh only)
The Tuition fee for the second year at EICAR, Paris: As current fee structure applicable at EICAR, Paris.

Scholarship:
Merit-cum-Need based scholarships may be offered for the second year of the program.
