Twinning Program
Through an ongoing twinning program administered by the International Centre for Applied Sciences, architecture students complete two years of study at Manipal and then get a transfer to a university in the United States for a further training of 3 years that lead to receiving an American degree in architecture.

Dr. T.M.A. Pai Center for Disaster Management
The Dr.T.M.A.Pai Centre for Disaster Management, Manipal University, which caters to disaster management studies functions with the Manipal School of Architecture and Planning. It is an academic resource center and arranges lectures by experts on various aspects of disaster and mitigation. It conducts conferences, workshops and seminars in collaboration with other disciplines within and outside the university.

National Resource Institute (NRI)
The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, embarked upon a massive nationwide scheme on “National Program on Capacity Building of Architects in Earthquake Risk Management: (NPCBAERM) after the Bhuj earthquake in 2001. The Ministry approved Manipal School of Architecture and Planning, formerly Faculty of Architecture, as a Nodal Centre in South India for Capacity Building Training Programs by giving it a status of the National Resource Institute (NRI). The Ministry is now considering to offer it a status of the State Resource Institute also. The NPCBAERM program receives good response and the faculty is able to train many teachers in architecture. The program may be extended to train practicing architects in future.
