The Master of Architecture (advance design) is a full time two-year professional post graduate degree programme accredited by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi- a statutory body of Government of India. The Master of Architecture is the second stage of the professional qualification in architecture.
This programme will provide opportunities for intensive study and research in key areas relevant to the architectural profession including environmental design, architectural technology, history and theory, people/environment studies and professional practice with the architectural design studio as the central focus.
The focus of the Master of Architecture is the teaching of architectural design through studio and community based projects in emerging fields of airports, high end hospitals and entertainment parks and industrialized housing. The projects involve the application and integration of the knowledge and skills acquired from supporting courses. The overall objective of the programme is to produce professionally qualified graduates able to participate in architectural practice in its many forms.
In addition to design, key areas of programme are newer building materials, advanced structural systems, energy- efficient design, urban design, interior design, earthquake resistant design entrepreneurship and project planning and business communication.
Specific objectives include:
• Development of professional competence in architectural design and practice
• Contribution to architectural scholarship through design and research work.
