Background/Past Experience:

Prof. Dhumale has 33 years of rich experience in the creative, entrepreneurial, academic and hardware fields in Media as a film producer, director and screenplay writer. He has been the recipient of ‘Janakinath Gaud Award’ for his outstanding contribution to Indian television, and has also won a ‘National Award’ for ‘Doordamya’, a one-hour documentary. He has been part of various fiction and non-fiction programming, shooting 30 major tele serials in the last 16 years in Europe, USA and South East Asia. Prof. Dhumale has also been involved in a couple of international projects. Presently he is working on a movie, ‘Disha’ starring Shekhar Kapoor, Kavita Choudhary, Milind Soman, and a television serial, ‘Aatank’ on the Kashmir issue.

Prof. Dhumale was nominated for Parwin Fellowship at Woodrow Wilson School of International Affairs, Princeton University, USA. Prior to joining Manipal, he has held posts of Chairman for Phd Programme in Communication and Media in Pune University, Media Advisor of Pune University and Honorary Director of Educational Media research Centre, Pune.
