Here I m getting excellent clinical exposure in comparison to other places in the south. I did my UG in Chennai and here the facilities are all “state-of-the-art” per se with multidisciplinary clinical settings for developing clinical skills in evaluation and management of patients of all conditions. The classrooms and library facilities are on par with international standards to provide congenial learning environment and guide our research dissertations. Apart from regular classes and seminars, frequent workshops and continuing professional development programmes are organized by the department at low-cost “not-for-profit” basis by our experienced and skilled faculty in collaboration with other department faculty both national and international, that keeps our knowledge continually upgraded.

Shiva Raman 1st MPT (2009-2010)

The course syllabus and curriculum of BPT here is very good here. Well-timed and taken lectures mixed with therapeutic practical sessions help us to gain strength in our subject fundamentals. In the UG clinical postings, we were well guided and mentored by our faculty with a good clinical exposure in standardised evaluation methods and established treatments. The encouraging attitude of the faculty combined with a friendly approach makes us feel at home here in KMC, Mangalore. I aspired to do MPT abroad, but did not get an opportunity so. Now I joined MPT in my alumnus college itself ‘cos I know it’s the best, in India. Now I feel proud to be a part of the department and its academic, clinical and research activities. The added depth of clinical exposure improves our skills in clinical decision making in evaluation, treatment planning and progression of therapy. Faculty moderated seminars guide us right from the very word “go” towards making the best out of ourself with the help and supervision of the qualified faculty.

Pooja Kamath 1st MPT (2009-2011)

Regular seminars, case presentations, journal clubs, recent advances presentations are conducted and moderated by our professors who guide us throughout. The topics of presentations are well organized in tune with the MPT syllabus and based on each student’s specialty and elective fields. Advanced skills are taught by faculty in practical hands-on training sessions which helps us gain confidence to apply on patients. Case presentations and clinical discussions are most useful and intellectually challenging so that PG students would be interested in self- learning methods and teaching skills. The faculties not only guide us in our PG research dissertations as guide and co-guide but also motivate and inspire us to perform as presentations in national and international conferences. Priority is also given towards publishing our research in peer-reviewed journals to add to our professional credentials. Three levels of presentation of research protocols in 1st year to the department, scientific committee and the ethics committee helps a great deal in making our research the best towards scientific contribution of knowledge. Research methodology classes are also held by Dept of Community Medicine which makes our research a lot easier and comfortable.
