• The ‘Manohar Memorial Award’ for the best paper in Audiology was bagged by Ms. Suzanna Sajin, II Year MASLP student, KMC, Mangalore, for her paper titled, “Effect of Training on perception of consonants through frequency lowering devices in high frequency simulated hearing loss”, at the 43rd National Indian Speech & Hearing Association Conference (ISHACON) held between 21st & 23rd January 2011 at Kolkota. The paper was prepared under the guidance of Mr. Sangamanatha AV and Dr. Ajith Kumar U.
• The ‘Muktha award’ for best paper in Audiology was bagged by Mr. Vikas MD, Ms. Anitta Susan and Mr. Hassan PC, for their paper titled, “Perception of spectral ripples and speech in noise by geriatric listeners”, at the 43rd National Indian Speech & Hearing Association Conference (ISHACON) held between 21st & 23rd January 2011 at Kolkota. This paper was prepared under the guidance of Mr. Arivudai Nambi.
• The ‘Best Paper in Audiology’ award was bagged by Ms. Pearl Edna D’Costa and Mr. Muthuraj, I Year MASLP students, KMC, Mangalore, for their paper “Binaural interaction components in speech evoked auditory brainstem responses” at the 42nd Indian Speech & Hearing Association National Conference (ISHACON) held at NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bengaluru from 22nd to 24th January 2010. The paper was prepared under the guidance of Mr. Kaushalendra Kumar, Dr. Ajith Kumar U and Dr. Jayashree S.Bhat
• Ms. Payal D. Mukhi & Ms. Ambalika Vekat, 3rd year BASLP students from the department of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology, KMC Mangalore received the ‘Best Poster in Audiology award’ during 41st Indian Speech & Hearing Association National Conference (ISHACON) held at Pune between January 23rd & 25th 2009. This poster, “Binaural beat ASSR: A tool for detecting binaural interaction” was prepared under the guidance of Mr. Arivudai Nambi & Dr. Jayashree S.Bhat.
• Ms Payal .D. Mukhi, 1st yr MASLP student, KMC, Mangalore was one among the few Indians who were selected to participate in the International Youth Forum Seliger 2011 which was held from July 1 through July 9,2011 under the auspices of the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs, Russian federation. Seliger 2011 was an international eco camp initiating more than 700 young individuals, students, researchers and innovators from over 80 countries. She presented a project titled as “Awareness programme for rehabilitation of individuals having Speech and Hearing disorders”. This forum seeks to set up an international networking and encourages young participants to come up with new projects and ideas and helps them to work together for a certain cause.
