Program overview:
The MPT Sports & Clinical Biomechanics is a two year dual degree program and first of its kind in the field of physiotherapy in India. During the program, the students study first year at Department of Physiotherapy, MCOAHS, Manipal University, Manipal and second year at, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland UK. On successful completion of program the candidate will obtain MPT in Sports and Clinical Biomechanics awarded by Manipal University and Msc Sports and Clinical biomechanics by Robert Gordon University, Scotland UK.
This full time program is aimed at those whose role is to scientifically analyze musculoskeletal mechanical function (and dysfunction) through fundamental and advanced concepts of motion analysis. The course aims to build on the existing intellectual skills and attribute of physiotherapy professional in sports and Clinical Biomechanics, including a wide range of practical skills, clinical decision making and patient management.

Course outline:

The MPT degree in Sports & Clinical Biomechanics is a two year course consisting of classroom teaching, self academic activities, lab work and clinical postings. The program will focus on advanced training in sports and exercise physiology, theoretical basis and practical application of biomechanics, sports rehabilitation along with research methodology and bio-statistics.

Scope of the program:

There is an increasing demand for trained sports and Biomechanics professionals and this course will provide you with a sought after range of practical, patient/ athlete- handling and clinical decision making skills. Career opportunities are diverse and include enhanced application of skills in the range of healthcare professions through scientific analysis of human movement.
Clinical and sports Biomechanists can work in the private health sector as clinical scientists. Other’s may choose to continue in education as teachers while there will be opportunities to continue on to Doctoral program both in India and Abroad.

Admission criteria:
1. Good rank in the entrance conducted by Manipal university will for this program.
2. Good English proficiency with an IELTS scores of 7 or more in each component.
