We do encourage student research activities. Inter-departmental and inter-disciplinary research activity is a hallmark of KMC and interested and motivated students can definitely approach faculty members involved in research.

Students get to practice the coveted profession of medicine in the US after writing their USMLE exams. The BSc health sciences degree also enables them to take up various professions in the field of health sciences ranging from working in laboratories to research.
3. What is the teaching methodology at KMCIC?
Teaching methodology in KMC IC is optimised according to international standards. Students are provided with a strong foundation in basic sciences that can be effectively applied in the clinical sciences and to succeed at the USMLE exams. PowerPoint lectures, e-learning, case studies, hospital visits, seminars, discussions, dissections, practical classes, self-directed learning and many other such tools are used for effective delivery of the courses.

Hostels are at a stone’s throw distance from the college. Personal vehicles are not required. The Indian “autorickshaws” are available in plenty and are just a phone call away.

The weather in Manipal shifts between being warm and rainy. The rains last for about 4 – 5 months from June to September/October. It gives Manipal a beautiful façade (Rain in Manipal is a favourite photography topic!!). Summers can get pretty warm. The temperature ranges between minimum of 20 oC in winter to 35 oC in summer.

Manipal has a rich tradition of religious tolerance and practice since it is situated very close to the temple town of Udupi. Temples, mosques, churches and a gurudwaras all function close to the campus to meet the needs of the students and the local population.

The college Orientation Program provides an overview of the programme and the basic rules and regulations governing the academics and hostel life of the students. Faculty mentors are assigned to each student to give timely advice and counsel in personal and academic matters. The University provides a counseling service and anonymous tele-helpline to anyone in distress.
10. What medical facilities are available to students?
The top-rated tertiary medical hospital at Manipal is capable of handling any medical needs of the students. Students are automatically insured with Medicare and almost all investigations, and in- and out-patient treatments are covered under it. Hi-tech ambulance services are also available at Manipal.
