About the Department

The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering was started in the year 2001. The B.Tech course in Instrumentation & Control Engineering deals with mainly Electronics subjects, Control system subjects and Instrumentation subjects. The department has well equipped laboratories in the areas of Instrumentation, Process Control, Control systems, PIC Micro controllers, Micro processors & Microcontrollers, Soft computing, Space Engineering etc. The major equipments in the department are SCADA, Control valves, Calibration equipments, PLC, Magnetic Levitation System, Ball and Beam System, Twin Rotor System, Multi Process Trainer etc. The department has been offering two year PG programs in Control Systems and Astronomy and Space Engineering. The department has separate well equipped laboratories for the PG programs. All the department programs are AICTE approved and NBA accredited for five years.

The department has expertise available in the field of Robust Control, Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic, Mobile communications, Bio-medical instrumentation, Adaptive Control, Electronic Instrumentation, Smart materials for Vibration isolation, Embedded Systems, Hybrid Systems etc. The department is involved in active research work in the above emerging fields. The faculty consists of 17 members. The faculty ratio stands at 1 teacher for 12 students. Faculties of the department have published many papers in International/ National journals and also they are participating summer schools, workshops and International/ National conferences. Many of our past students are pursuing higher studies in various international universities abroad. Control Instrumentation System Conference (CISCON) is an annual event organized under the auspices of Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department
