The hostel provides a cot, a mattress, a study table, a chair and a cupboard for each student. Every hostel has 24 hour electricity and water supply, solar heated water facility, water cooler with Aqua guard filters, common telephone, common TV room, common reading room etc. Students can take an independent telephone connection on additional payment. Adequate dining facilities are available for all students. Membership to any of the mess run in the campus is compulsory, not applicable to Health Sciences Campus, Manipal. However, all first year students of Health Sciences Campus are required to dine in one of the messes located in the campus that is either Food Court Mess or RKHS Mess. This is due to Health/safety concerns and Security reasons. Some hostels have gymnasium and indoor games facilities. Food court caters variety of food to suit all tastes.

In addition to the above Three seater rooms (with common bathroom) are available in NTS, OSB, NSB, Rajaji and Kamaraj Blocks.
Hot water facility: Solar heated water is available in all the hostels during specific timings in the morning and evening. Residents are requested to use this without causing any wastage.
Laundry Facilities: Outsourced washing machine facility with operator is available in Nehru Hostel for gents, S Chandrasekhar Hostel and Sonia hostel for ladies. Clothes are washed on nominal payment and given within 24 hours. In addition laundry men/ women visit the hostels in the evening and collect clothes for washing on charges laid down by the University.
Telephone (in University Hostels, Manipal campus) and internet
Students have the following options for a telephone connection:

There is a good telephone system in Manipal University. Residents may own University telephone in their rooms by paying the requisite fees. Students can also apply for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) telephone connection

From the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) for a direct line. This will be provided by DOT on a waiting basis

MAHE telephone connection which is an internal campus extension with long-distance connectivity. A refundable deposit of Rs 5,000

Internet points are available in AC hostels on a monthly payment basis.

Frequent bus services from Manipal to Udupi and Mangalore are available

There is no need of any transport in the campus as all places of importance to students are within the walking distance from hostels. First year students are not permitted to have any type of motor vehicles. Management does not take responsibility for the security of the student private vehicles
