The department of purchase is responsible for procurement of materials. This department handles issues like how much to buy, when to buy, what to buy, from whom to buy, how to buy and why to buy. The department follows a right mix of centralised and decentralised purchasing policies.

Purchase Department is the first Constituent of Manipal University to be certified ISO 9001:2000 in the year 2004. The procurement process is aided by People Soft programme where in the entire process of demand, procurement and payment is automated online.
