Professor Dr. HN Udaya Shankar joined the Manipal Institute of Technology in 1984 and took over as Registrar Evaluation of Manipal University from 1st September 2009. Graduated from Yuvaraja’s College Mysore, he did his Masters in Geology from Mysore University with Gold Medal. He was awarded his PhD from the Mangalore University.
Dr Udaya Shankar is also a Professor in the Civil Engineering Department of Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. Actively involved in research activities, has guided 2 PhD’s and guiding few more. He is the Co investigator for a Department of Environment Govt. of India funded project. He is the Fellow of Geological society of India and Mineralogical Society of India. He is also a Life Member of Association of Exploration Geophysicists. His research interests include studies on Environmental, Ground water, Water Quality, River System, Geomorphology and Applications of Remote Sensing.
Dr Udaya Shankar served the Institution for more than 25 years and held various administrative responsibilities. He was the elected Member of the Academic Senate of Mangalore University (3 years) Officer in Charge University Affairs MIT Manipal (5years) Deputy Registrar (Tech.) & Deputy Controller of Examinations MU (5 years) and was the Director Admissions MU (3 years)
